We help our clients and their families sleep soundly with our overnight care services.
At MainSpring Home Care, we understand that caring for elderly or disabled loved ones overnight can be a significant challenge. Our overnight care services are designed to provide restful nights for both you and your loved ones. We ensure safety when you can't be there, allowing you to maintain your productive day and restful night.
Reasons for disrupted overnight sleep in the Elderly
Your elderly loved one might display signs of disrupted overnight sleep, possibly due to medication changes, alterations in physical or cognitive status, unknown reasons, or a combination of factors. Whether this change occurred suddenly or gradually, you may have become aware of it when your loved one innocently mentioned it or experienced a minor nighttime fall that raised concerns for their safety. Balancing traditional work hours with the need to stay awake overnight for their safety can lead to exhaustion and stress. Instead of attempting an unrealistic long-term solution, we offer flexible resources to ensure your loved one's safety while allowing you to maintain a productive day and restful night.
The Initial Step
Overnight care is akin to daytime care. The initial step is to contact our Intake Nurse to arrange a free assessment. This assessment, at no cost or obligation, provides valuable insights into home care and helps you understand your aging loved one's options based on their needs and funding. Misconceptions about Medicare coverage, long-term care insurance, other qualifying options, and potential out-of-pocket expenses can be clarified during this informative session.

Executing the Care Plan
Once you have a clear understanding of both the care required and the available funding, you can formulate and execute a practical plan. During the complimentary assessment, you can devise an optimal schedule that aligns with your aging loved one's needs and budget. Families often collaborate to create a weekly schedule, incorporating times when they can provide assistance and times when they cannot, necessitating the support of a caregiver. This is particularly common when seeking overnight care. While family and friends can offer help during the day and evening, overnight assistance becomes crucial for allowing you to rest.
Temporary Overnight Care
Overnight care may also be a temporary requirement. Following planned orthopedic surgeries such as hip or knee replacements, your aging loved one might need overnight assistance. Our overnight caregiver ensures they safely navigate getting out of bed, going to and from the bathroom, and returning to bed as needed. They also assist with waking up for prescribed pain medication and attending to other overnight needs.
